Do I need to install anything?

Accepted Answer

No. KRON runs in your browser — there is nothing to install or maintain on shop machines. The interface is in English.

Question 2

Which CAD formats can I import?

Accepted Answer

DSTV / nc1 from Tekla Structures and any other CAD that writes the format, plus STEP and IGS solid geometry (single parts, not assemblies). Existing warehouse stock can also be loaded from a spreadsheet.

Question 3

Which standards are supported?

Accepted Answer

KRON currently ships EN, Indian and South African standards catalogues, selected once in the Standards Manager and then applied automatically to new projects. Anything not in a catalogue can be created in the Custom Profiles Manager by entering the profile type, standard and parameters. If a standard you need is missing, send it to support@kroncutting.com and it will be added.

What does the saw operator actually get?

A cutting drawing and a process card generated from the plan, with detailed control over what appears on them — merged rows, minimum part height, kerf exaggeration, view spacing, bevel dimensions and splice prefixes. Both export to PDF and Excel.

Question 5

How are cut angles handled?

Accepted Answer

Angles are set per part end, either by leg or in degrees — KRON converts between the two using the profile height. The optimiser packs angled ends together, and can add a gap where two adjacent cuts have different angles so both can physically be made. You can also tell it to ignore angles entirely and use each part’s overall dimension instead.

Does it handle off-cuts?

Yes. Anything longer than the maximum offcut length you set is treated as a remnant rather than scrap. Registering it gives it a unique mark, it inherits the mill test reports of the bar it came from, and it is offered back automatically on later jobs that match.

Can one part be cut from more than one bar?

Accepted Answer

Yes, where you allow it. Splicing is switched on per profile, with a minimum distance from the part end, a technological gap, and a maximum number of splices. You can also forbid splices in specific zones — around holes, part abutments and cut-outs, at the ends, or in the centre — and KRON merges overlapping restrictions for you.

Is there a CNC export?

Yes. Selecting a CNC machine changes the algorithm to use each part’s natural length and its original geometry, and makes the CNC result available for download alongside the process card. CNC mode is an add-on from Pro and included in Factory and Enterprise.

Is there an API or ERP integration?

Accepted Answer

Not today. Both are on the roadmap and neither is sold as part of any plan. If ERP integration is a requirement for you, tell us — it helps us prioritise.

How is it billed?

Accepted Answer

Monthly or annually, in USD or EUR, charged in advance and renewing automatically until cancelled. Annual billing charges ten months for twelve. A free plan is available with no time limit, and the Founder Price takes 50% off every paid plan until 1 November 2026.
